Happy Halloween

Hey Readers!
Being that today is Halloween I thought I'd switch things up a bit by keeping things fun and exciting! I've taken some time to write a Halloween short story that I hope you will enjoy!

The door to an old abandoned house swung open. A young teen teen put his left foot forward peering through the house. The floor boards creaked with each step he took. A distinct smell empowered the house, a mix of mold, dust and animal decay. As he peered to his left he noticed an old bedroom. It intrigued him as to what could be in there. The suspense was too strong so he made way toward the room. Upon entering the bedroom he noticed an antique dresser covered in dust and parts of the roof that had fallen in. It was ancient, dark mahogany, with a beautiful detailed mirror. As the teen wiped away dust from the mirror he noticed a dark figure peering behind the curtains in the reflection. He snapped his head back but there was nothing there. He decided to walk toward the window to see what could have tricked his imagination. As he got closer his heart began to speed, his legs began to tremble and his palms became moist. Lifting the white dusted curtain he saw nothing, not even a tree blowing in the wind. He turned around only to find ....

Get Active

Walk It Off!

We live in a generation where we thrive on the media, look to television shows for the “perfect“ relationships, and even look to see what we should look like and dress. In actuality what we see in the media is not who we should be. These outlets are there for entertainment value. They allow you to sit back after a long hard day and relax.
It has gotten to the point where people lose focus on the important aspects of what life has to offer; enjoyment and individuality. Become something you wish to be, enjoy the aspects of life you’d like to enjoy. If anything media should inspire you to do what you enjoy not take away from the greatness that you are.  I’m not saying ban all media sources, but perhaps learn from it. Enjoy watching cooking shows? Pick up some ingredients and make it yourself! Same goes with magazines about losing weight. Don’t look at it as a negative aspect get out there and work out and get physical for the benefits you feel. You’ll feel healthier, happier with much more energy than you could ever imagine.
When we watch television shows and see "fabulous" celebrities looking fit, remember they work a few months out of a year and the rest of the year is geared to getting fit and looking good. They have to portray a fake reality in order to be perceived as perfection. If they are not viewed as perfect then viewers won't watch. We all want to find something to look up to, but in the generation we live in now we are looking up to the wrong idea of who we should be.
What it comes down to, is that we all strive for a "perfect world", and our perfect world comes from what you make of it, what you want out of it and what your willing to do to get there. So don't give up, don't fold under pressure to be something your not. Get active, get motivated and do something that inspires you to become you. Above all, be proud of who you are and where you've come from, it is better than any made up fairy tale or fantasy.

Turn Up The Love

In order to love someone else you must love yourself first, the rest will fall into place after.

We’ve all been there, the butterflies in the stomach, awkward encounters, the comfort of having someone around  and of course the bitter sweet break up when you least expect it. Rarely do we find “the one” we are meant to spend the rest of our lives with, but when we do, time seems endless.  We never want the good times to end. When its good, it’s great, and when its bad its hell.
When a relationship ends you seek advice from friends, counselors, and family members. Your heart aches and the thought of seeing that person out haunts you like a bad dream. It feels like a double standard at times; you can date but your ex cannot until you have fully moved on. You wonder if there is a hidden message behind the break up, if there is someone else or if there was any love involved at all.
We all need to grow as individuals and become who we want to be. Don't hide who you are because its what you think the other person will like. We all have this perception of how relationships should be. We watch television shows that portray the "perfect" relationship, where the girl comes home to a trail of rose pedals leading toward a bath tub where candles are lit and a bubble bath is made. Lets face it, television is not real its created for entertainment yet we thrive on what we see.
Break ups are hard as it is, don't make it harder than it has to be. Focus on yourself, get out of your routine and add a new asset to your life. Pick up a hobby or try something you thought you would never do! Focus on creating a new you, an improvement anything to make you happy and put you back on the right track!

Organization

Get Organized

Life in its entirety is simplistic in nature. When you let the little things in life pile up, it becomes stressful and uneventful. You lose focus, lose sleep, and become forgetful. These aspects leave yourself open for "failure".
I am a huge believer on planning and organization, but I'm far from where I need to be. Happiness begins and ends with a simple life. No matter what you desire in life there will always be a handful of tasks that you must accomplish, meaning you must acquire the traits of organization. If there is a lack of planning you begin to set forth a vicious cycle which leads to a loss in your focus. When these situations arise we become unhappy. Unhappy with the moment, unhappy with ourselves and unhappy with life. We cannot focus on what we desire because we are lost in thought. Our judgement is clouded by all the tasks we have yet to accomplish therefore leaving us disorganized.
In order to simplify and be stress free create a step by step process to your achievements.

Set Goals. Have short term and long term goals for yourself. The short term goals should be the stepping stone in reaching your long term goals. Short term goals set in motion the process of your final goal.

Plan Steps. These steps should help you reach your short term goals first, and then the steps needed to achieve your long term goals. Try picking up a journal or planner. By doing so, you will find it helps you start the planning process and keep you organized which will help you get to where you want to go. Write down your thoughts - this will help eliminate stress.

Don't Give up. Giving up defeats the purpose. Everyone starts from scratch, rarely are we handed what we want, it requires work. Don't lose focus on what you set out to do. This means, don't procrastinate! We all have this inside us, this urge to put everything on hold. When you do this you allow more tasks to pile up. Get motivated to finish the task.

Believe in yourself. Be proud of your accomplishments. Your doing all this work, its worth something.

Do a simple task one week that involves planning. Make it benefit you to make you happy and build from there.  Businesses have a calendar which are located on the walls in the managers offices for meetings, this assists in the planning process for daily functions. The same should apply for you and me. Mark dates on the calendar as a plan to get from A to B. As long as you have a plan and your striving for that end goal, you win.

Be stress free. Don't make life harder than it should be.

Are you Happy?

LOVE YOURSELF

Love Who you ARE Not Who Others Want You To Be

In order to be successful, do the things that interest you. Take part in aspects that inspire you, find love in what will shape you. When you invest time in enjoyable events you allow yourself to experience new and exciting adventures.
Life is far too short to sit and worry about the little things. Be grateful to be where you are right now. If you are not feeling your greatest and feel as though you are falling behind, its manageable. Look around smell the cool air, and most importantly look forward to jumping those hurdles. Create a plan and follow your goals. Make sure to love yourself above all. Your unique, perfect and successful in every way. Life will always have set backs and obstacles for you to overcome. This is what makes you who you are. Helps shape you into the person you want to be, should be, and makes you stand out among the rest. Realise your strengths and self worth, because you are truly amazing.
Be a free spirit. Take chances, enjoy the little things.

Are you happy? Are you happy? Are you Happy?

Bullying

Stop Bullying

The most heart wrenching thing is to see someone get tormented with nobody around them to support and provide compassion to the situation. - Me

It is safe to say that no matter where you go, or what you do, its evident you will hear that someone somewhere is being picked on or bullied. Perhaps you have been the victim. Whatever the case, its never a pleasant feeling, a moment of happiness or even something to be proud of.
In life we all yearn for acceptance. We wish to feel loved, and to give that love back in return. When we are bullied we lose this confidence and lose focus on things we need, things we want and what everyone should have in life. We lose focus on our surroundings, our happiness and our love for life.
When someone is mistreated it decreases the chances of success because we are unable to put our focus on anything else.
Everyone makes mistakes, we are human, not perfect. Life will throw us 'curve balls' and toss you in the opposite direction of where you want to be. It may mean you are left with unfortunate circumstances that leave you in the dark. However it is how you react or perceive these that define you as an individual. Some situations are easier to cope with, but when you are bullied your sense of abandonment tends to override your coping mechanisms, leaving you more vulnerable than what you started with. When this happens its harder to overcome the negative and you begin to believe in them.
Again, people make mistakes its all part of a learning process which creates the person you are for the future. This is how we define and develop our personality and character traits.
Nobody should have to feel as though they are alone in the world, we all need to feel loved, have someone, and feel comfort in our surroundings. We cannot change the past, but we can change the future. Lets make a difference

Anxiety Free

   Find Your Inner Peace

I've decided to add an "Anxiety Free" portion to my blog site. Why? Well, I have taken this upon myself because at times I find it very hard to cope with my anxiety. I personally have suffered from anxiety since I was a child. At times some days would be more difficult than others.
People within society have preconceived ideas of what anxiety is, and how it affects someone. Anxiety is a completely normal feeling that many people experience. Each person that experiences anxiety does so for many different reasons. Some people may experience anxiety during a tense moment such as exam time, others by hanging out with a new group of friends.
Needless to say, it is a very exhausting condition and I'm happy to say that I have finally found ways to "cope" with this. Though my coping skills may not work for everyone, and may not work 100% of the time, its still a step in the right direction to help ease the tension.
What I have learned is to change my focus onto something productive, being active. The moment I begin to feel an anxiety attack approaching, or even the onset of one I focus on things around me such as writing, cleaning or even a short work out. These things can ease the mind and relax your body. Once your at a "calm" state of being, you can focus on whats bothering you. Another thing I enjoy doing is keeping a journal, or a daily planner. By doing so it allows me to write down what is on my mind, and the solutions to how to overcome it.
-Try it out or maybe at least come up with some ideas of your own. By overcoming and understanding your anxiety, you will be able to live a healthier and happier life.

Get Inspired

Why bother waiting around for life to pass you by? Grab life by the horns and hold on tight!

Experience as much of life as you can!
I saw a quote somewhere that had great meaning to me, " Let your past make you better, not bitter". I believe everyone could use this quote in their lives. We all go through hard times, its inevitable, they come with the good. However it is up to us, as individuals to take those rough moments and turn them into something fun and exciting. Now, your probably thinking I'm crazy. In what possible way can you take the worst moments and turn them into something good?
For starters, don't dwell. Rarely do we look at bad situations as just that. The unfortunate truth is, if something disrupts our mood, it spoils our whole outlook on the day, perhaps even the week.
Here is an idea! Try taking the day and look at it as a whole. What I like to do if something bull dozes through my happiness, I look to the things that made the day unique, or entertaining.
Did you meet someone special? Help someone in need? Get good news?
Perhaps it was even something as simple as the sun shining brightly into your room to say good morning! Whatever brought you down, can bring you back up. Focus on those negative circumstances in ways to turn into positive ones. This may even mean buying a day planner to help organize your life, listening to music, or even a nice work out ( like yoga, pilates and zumba). Even a nice walk outside can clear your mind and help to alleviate your stresses.
No matter what the situation was, look for the good in it. In the end I am sure it will make you a stronger wiser person, ready to jump over the next obstacle standing in your way.
One more thing....never go to bed angry! This I cannot stress enough, and I live by this. I find when you go to bed angry or upset, you wake up in the same state you were in when you fell asleep in the first place. Good days can always out weigh any bad, just by focusing the good. Things always have a way of working out in the end, after all, once the rain has stopped there is a rainbow that shines through.

In the end it does not matter how slow you go, just remember not to stop.
