Get Active

Walk It Off!

We live in a generation where we thrive on the media, look to television shows for the “perfect“ relationships, and even look to see what we should look like and dress. In actuality what we see in the media is not who we should be. These outlets are there for entertainment value. They allow you to sit back after a long hard day and relax.
It has gotten to the point where people lose focus on the important aspects of what life has to offer; enjoyment and individuality. Become something you wish to be, enjoy the aspects of life you’d like to enjoy. If anything media should inspire you to do what you enjoy not take away from the greatness that you are.  I’m not saying ban all media sources, but perhaps learn from it. Enjoy watching cooking shows? Pick up some ingredients and make it yourself! Same goes with magazines about losing weight. Don’t look at it as a negative aspect get out there and work out and get physical for the benefits you feel. You’ll feel healthier, happier with much more energy than you could ever imagine.
When we watch television shows and see "fabulous" celebrities looking fit, remember they work a few months out of a year and the rest of the year is geared to getting fit and looking good. They have to portray a fake reality in order to be perceived as perfection. If they are not viewed as perfect then viewers won't watch. We all want to find something to look up to, but in the generation we live in now we are looking up to the wrong idea of who we should be.
What it comes down to, is that we all strive for a "perfect world", and our perfect world comes from what you make of it, what you want out of it and what your willing to do to get there. So don't give up, don't fold under pressure to be something your not. Get active, get motivated and do something that inspires you to become you. Above all, be proud of who you are and where you've come from, it is better than any made up fairy tale or fantasy.
